1. How do I go about starting the lapel pin design and ordering process?
    • The design and ordering process is relatively simple and it starts with you providing us, via email, your lapel pin ideas, reference images, etc. We then take your information that you provided and create a digital mock up (which we call a proof) that we email to you for your review. Along with this proof we will include a price quote. Please note that to create a price quote we require the quantity to be ordered and desired size.
  2. What is the minimum order quantity?
    • The minimum order is 300 lapel pins.
  3. What file formats are accepted for images?
    • Superior Custom Pins prefer images to be in .EPS or .AI formats, if possible. Otherwise, we accept .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, .PPT, .DOC, .PDF, .BMP, .TIFF and .PSD. We are not able to work with .CDR or .PUB file types.
  4. Do you accept faxes for lapel pin reference images and ideas?
    • Superior Custom Pins recommend that you do not fax us images for reference as faxes come through black and white only. An option in lieu of faxes would be to scan in your ideas and email them to us.
  5. What metal plating options do you offer for your lapel pins?
    • Superior Custom Pins offer gold, silver and copper plating standard with our orders. For an extra charge, we can antique those standard finishes to give an aged look to your lapel pins. Antique finishes also help greatly when your design is mostly metal (die struck) as the darker recessed areas provide a greater contrast for text and fine lines.
  6. What are Superior Custom Pins lapel pins made from?
    • Our lapel pins are made from brass metal.
  7. Are you able to manufacture lapel pins in different shapes?
    • Superior Custom Pins can manufacture your lapel pins in most any shape. They do not have to be circular, as traditional lapel pins are. Our galleries have some examples of unique shapes.
  8. What payment methods do you accept?
    • Superior Custom Pins accepts all major credit cards (including government purchasing cards), checks and contracts/purchase orders from federal organizations only.
  9. What are the shipping costs for my order?
    • Superior Custom Pins offers free UPS Air Shipping to all physical addresses in the 48 contiguous states only. Please let your sales person know of your desired delivery address, if outside the contiguous 48 states, so they may get you a quote on your shipping costs.
  10. Do you ship to APO/FPO addresses?
    • Superior Custom Pins do ship to APO/FPO addresses at an extra cost. Please supply your sales person with your address so a quote can be made for the shipping.
  11. How long does it take before I receive my lapel pins?
    • If your lapel pins are shipping to the United States, your typical turn around time is 20 business days for manufacturing and 2 business days for shipment transit. All other destinations’ delivery times differ.
  12. Do you offer a “rush” service/fee?
    • Superior Custom Pins manufacture our lapel pins the fastest way possible so we do not offer a “rush” service. This does not necessarily mean Superior Custom Pins cannot meet your due date though. Please inform your sales person of if you need the pins to arrive by a certain time and he/she will give you a more detailed answer.
  13. What is the minimum order for a reorder?
    • The minimum for a reorder is 100.
  14. Can I pay to have my lapel pins overnighted?
    • Superior Custom Pins ship our lapel pins via UPS as a 2 day service. The lapel pins cannot be overnighted as they are shipped the fastest way possible from overseas free of charge.
  15. When is payment due for my order?
    • Superior Custom Pins require payment, in full, before we start an order.
  16. How long do you keep our mold and artwork on hand?
    • Superior Custom Pins keep your lapel pin’s mold and artwork on file for a period of 2 years.
